Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter softened
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cups dried sour cherries
  • 6 oz bittersweet chocolate coarsely chopped

Method

In large bowl, beat together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy; beat in eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.

In separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda and salt; stir into butter mixture until combined. Stir in cherries and chocolate.

Drop by rounded 1 tbsp (15 mL) onto parchment paper–lined baking sheets.

Bake in 350?F (180?C) oven until edges are golden, 12 minutes. Let cool on pans on racks for 5 minutes; transfer to racks and let cool.
