These treats are remarkably low in fat for brownies.
- 6 oz 6ozsemisweet chocolate
- 1/2 cup 1/2cuphot water
- 4 4egg whiteegg whites
- 1 tsp 1tspvanilla
- 2/3 cup 2/3cupgranulated sugar
- 2/3 cup 2/3cupall-purpose flour
- 1 tsp 1tspbaking powder
- 1 Pinch 1Pinchsalt
- Icing sugar
In large heatproof bowl set over hot (not boiling) water, melt chocolate with water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat. Let cool slightly.
Whisk in egg whites and vanilla. Stir together sugar, flour, baking powder and salt ; stir into chocolate batter just until combined. Pour into lightly greased 8-inch (2 L) square cake pan. Bake in 350°F (180°C) oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until edges pull away from pan. Let cool on rack; dust with icing sugar.
