Chocolate Cookie Dough

This recipe makes 70 servings

Divide this brownielike dough to make hats and Broomstick Cookies.

Ingredients

4 oz unsweetened chocolate , chopped4 4oz ozunsweetened chocolate, chopped
3/4 cup butter , softened3/4 3/4cup cupbutter, softened
1 cup packed brown sugar 1 1cup cuppacked brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 3/4cup cupgranulated sugar
1 egg 1 1eggeggs
1 tsp vanilla 1 1tsp tspvanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour 2 2cups cupsall-purpose flour
1/3 cup cocoa powder 1/3 1/3cup cupcocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 1/2tsp tspbaking soda
1/4 tsp salt 1/4 1/4tsp tspsalt

Preparation

In heatproof bowl over saucepan of hot (not boiling) water, melt chocolate, stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile, in bowl, beat together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy; beat in egg and vanilla. Beat in chocolate.

In separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt ; stir into butter mixture in 2 additions to make smooth dough. Divide in half.

Makes enough dough for about 70 cookies.
