Donatina Zampino of St-Leonard, Que., says these melt-in-your-mouth cookies are as traditional as the wedding cake in her family.

Almond Sour Cream Drops
Inspired by cookies from a bakery in Brookfield, N.S, Sandra Nowlan of Halifax created these herself. For a more intense almond flavour, double the extract in both the cookie and icing.

Blueberry White Chocolate Chip Cookies
Sandi Fiolka of Okotoks, Alta., just loves cookies ­ reading about them, planning to make them, shopping for ingredients, baking them and especially eating them!

Inspired by a trip to Hawaii, Cheryl Parsons of London, Ont., developed these to keep the aloha feeling alive. For a festive cookie, use a Christmas tree instead of palm tree cutter.

Sarah Sparkes of Waterloo, Ont., developed a love of cooking and baking at an early age and now enjoys sharing her passion with her two children.

Blueberry Lemon-­Glazed Shortbread Squares
Julie Bensch of Hamilton, loves to mix tradition with a new twist ­ and this square is the result. She adds a drop or two of yellow food colouring to the icing for a lemony look.

Raisin Squares
The mother of Darlene Schmidt of Edmonton received this recipe from an aunt
in the 1930s. Her mum changed the base and the squares have been a family
favourite ever since.
