Dairy and fruit are dressed up in a little morning indulgence — sure to make even the grumpiest of morning grumps smile. For a special treat, use frozen yogurt.

Ingredients

    1/2 cup (125 mL) sliced strawberries
    1 tsp (5 mL) granulated_sugar
    1 small banana, sliced
    1 cup (250 mL) vanilla-flavoured or plain yogurt
    2 tsp (10 mL) chocolate_syrup (optional)
    2 tsp (10 mL) roasted sunflower seeds

Preparation

Mash strawberries with sugar. Divide half of the banana between 2 sundae cups or glass dessert bowls. Divide 2 tbsp (25 mL) of the strawberry sauce on top, then 1/2 cup (125 mL) of the yogurt. Divide remaining banana over top, then yogurt, then strawberry sauce. Drizzle evenly with chocolate syrup (if using). Sprinkle with sunflower seeds.
