Camping Mix
Ideal for easy packing, this versatile mixture is the base for Fruity Pancakes and Skillet Drop Biscuits.
Servings: 8 cups (2 L)
Ingredients:

3-1/2 cups (875 mL) all-purpose flour
2 cups (500 mL) whole wheat flour
2/3 cup (150 mL) skim milk powder
1/2 cup (125 mL) natural bran
1/2 cup (125 mL) wheat germ
1/4 cup (50 mL) granulated sugar
2 tbsp (25 mL) baking powder
4 tsp (20 mL) salt
2/3 cup (150 mL) shortening
Preparation:
In large bowl, whisk together all-purpose and whole wheat flours, milk powder, bran, wheat germ, sugar, baking powder and salt. With pastry blender or 2 knives, cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. (Make-ahead: Refrigerate in airtight container for up to 1 month.)
