What is a good way to cook raw corned beef? On the package it says to boil it. Is there another way?

Boiling the corned beef is a good way to cook it. We have also cooked corned beef in a slow cooker. For a 2-lb corned beef you need to add 2-1/2 cups of water or stock and cook on low for 9 to 10 hours.
