How can I keep brown sugar from going hard?

The best way to keep brown sugar from going hard is to put a piece of bread into the container. The sugar pulls the moistness from the bread. You will be amazed at how hard the bread becomes! There are also gadgets available to keep sugar soft, such as a small clay piece you soak in water and then put in the sugar. -- Heather Howe
