Serve this tasty chicken burger recipe with crispy lettuce, crunchy red onions and zippy tahini sauce. Expect rave reviews from the table!
Ingredients
- 1 egg 1 1eggeggs
- 2 tbsp water 2 2tbsp tbspwater
- 2 tbsp lemon juice 2 2tbsp tbsplemon juice
- 1 small onion , grated1 1small onion, grated
- 1/4 cup dry breadcrumbs 1/4 1/4cup cupdry breadcrumbs
- 2 tsp chopped fresh thyme 2 2tsp tspchopped fresh thyme
- 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 1/2tsp tspsalt
- 1/2 tsp pepper 1/2 1/2tsp tsppepper
- 1 lb lean ground chicken 1 1lb lblean ground chicken or turkey
- 4 hamburger buns 4 4hamburger bunhamburger buns
Preparation
In bowl, beat together egg, water and lemon juice. Stir in onion, bread crumbs, thyme, salt and pepper; mix in chicken. Shape into four 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick patties.
(Make-ahead: Layer between waxed paper in airtight container and refrigerate for up to 24 hours or freeze for up to 1 month. Thaw in refrigerator.)
Place on greased grill over medium-high heat; close lid and grill, turning once, until digital thermometer inserted sideways into centre reads 165°F (74°C), about 10 minutes. Sandwich in buns.
