How do you repair salty soups or sauces?

The most foolproof way to fix a salty soup or sauce is to add more ingredients if your dish cn take it – additional water or unsalted stock if appropriate will help to dilute the sauce. If this is not a possibility try adding a bit of lemon juice or cider vinegar.
