Preparation

In small bowl, whisk together vinegar, sugar, mustard, salt and pepper; set aside.

Core and slice apples crosswise into 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick rings. Cut onion crosswise into 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick slices. Arrange on rimmed baking sheet. Brush half of the mustard mixture over 1 side of apple rings and onion slices.

With tongs, place onion and apples, mustard side down, on greased grill over medium-high heat; brush with remaining mustard mixture. Close lid and grill, turning once, until golden and tender, about 10 minutes.
