This ultimate comfort food, flavoured in a myriad of ways, suits just about any meal. Makes a super side dish.
Ingredients
- 2 lb potatoes , (about 5)2 2lb lbpotatopotatoes, (about 5)
- 1/2 cup hot milk 1/2 1/2cup cuphot milk
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs 1/4 1/4cup cupchopped fresh herbs
- 2 tbsp butter 2 2tbsp tbspbutter
- 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 1/2tsp tspsalt
- 1/4 tsp pepper 1/4 1/4tsp tsppepper
Preparation
Peel and cut potatoes into chunks. Cook, covered, in pot of boiling salted water for 15 to 20 minutes or until fork-tender; drain well. With potato masher, mash until smooth.
Mix in hot milk, chopped fresh herbs, butter, salt and pepper.
