Steps 1 - 2

Learning how to weave a lattice top looks tricky but is really simple.

1. Start with rolled-out pastry. Cut neatly into fourteen 1-inch (2.5 cm) wide strips, using a ruler as guide.

2. Lay half of the strips over the filling and bottom pastry overhang, arranging the longest in the middle and shorter ones toward the edge.
