Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp dried Italian herb seasoning 1 tbsp dried Italian herb seasoning

  • 2 cups bottled strained tomatoes , (passata)2 cups bottled strained tomatoes, (passata)
  • 3 cups shredded Canadian Cheddar cheese 3 cups shredded Canadian Cheddar cheese
  • 12 oz (340 g) pasta shells 12 oz (340 g) pasta shells

Preparation

In large nonstick skillet, heat 1 tsp oil of the over medium-high heat; brown beef, breaking up with wooden spoon, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain in colander and set aside.

Add remaining oil, onion, garlic, hot pepper flakes (if using), Italian seasoning and pepper to skillet; cook, stirring occasionally, until onion is softened, 4 to 5 minutes.

Return beef to skillet along with strained tomatoes. Stir in cheese until melted, about 1 minute.

Meanwhile, in large pot of lightly salted boiling water, cook pasta according to package directions; drain and return to pot. Add beef mixture and toss to coat.
