Dad will love this meaty, grilled meal all summer long. Here is our work-ahead plan to make cooking and assembly easy on Father's Day or any other special occasion this summer:
Up to 2 weeks ahead:
• Cut, blanch and freeze fries
24 hours ahead:
• Make croutons and dressing fo rsalad
• Make Mustard Mayonnaise for fries
4 to 6 hours ahead:
• Make shortcakes
• Peel, devein and skewer shrimp
• Make Chili Barbecue Sauce for shrimp
• Fry and chop bacon for salad
• Prepare and refrigerate remaining salad ingredients
2 hours ahead:
• Macerate strawberries
Dinnertime:
• Grill shrimp
• Fry or bake french fries
• Toss salad
• Grill steaks
• Assemble strawberry shortcakes
