Not all green tea is the same! Search for Matcha, the lovely powdered Japanese green tea used for tea ceremonies. Some of your guests may prefer black tea, so have some of this brewed on hand as well.
A limited selection of sake can be found at most liquor stores.
Invitations
Play with the Japanese theme. Kimono-shaped invitations would be a very cute detail. Or, search for motifs such as bamboo, teapots, Geishas, fans, and tealeaves. You could also try your hand at a Japanese character painted on a simple white card.
Activities
If you need an extra activity, flower arranging would be an appropriate activity after the meal. Purchase lots of stems from your florist and have your guests create simple arrangements in slim, tall vases.
For the kids
All the stuffy custom may be too much for a little one so have lots of outdoor games for them to play. The purpose is to enjoy life among nature for the kids, too.
Favours
Let guests take home their flower arrangement or purchase premium Matcha tea for everyone to take home. A beautiful fan would also make a nice parting gift.
