All about Christine Picheca
A self-confessed foodie and a butcher's daughter, Christine has cultivated an entertainment-focused lifestyle through natural inclination . . . and a little effort.
Before launching her own catering company, Very Good Food, Christine's career in the culinary arts spanned over a decade. She honed her culinary skills at various restaurants around Toronto including a long and rewarding career at the Art Gallery of Ontario. She has shared her culinary expertise through teaching opportunities at the Stratford Chef School, the Tea Spot and Calphalon Culinary Centre.
Christine has been sought out by food industry leaders for her expertise on current food trends along with menu and recipe development. She has worked with Herbal Magic, Proirity Foods, Ontario Potato Board, Malibu Consulting, The National Post, Food and Drink Magazine and Eye Publishing, to name a few.
Her exacting standards and entertaining expertise has drawn positive attention from media and clients alike resulting in features in NOW Magazine, Starweek's Chef's Showcase, Food Arts magazine and Toronto Life Entertainment Guide. She has appeared on Alliance Atlantis’ The Lofters, CBC's Canada NOW, City TV's Breakfast Television and Food Network's Kitchen Equipped, as well as having co-hosted PRIME Television's cooking show We're Talking Homemade.
Christine studied in the Culinary Management Program at George Brown College after graduating from the University of Western Ontario with a BA in English Literature and Political Science. Christine is well traveled, has an opinion on just about everything (usually informed but also likes to shoot from the hip), rarely backs down from a challenge and gets around a lot -- that is, eats out, has her finger on the pulse of what is cutting edge and especially loves new ethnic finds. Christine loves to share what she finds with others and also has an "in" with The Canadian Living Test Kitchen. What she doesn't know, they do, and they are all anxious to share ideas with you as well.
