Long Doughnut, China

If you’re lucky enough to have an authentic Chinese restaurant or noodle-house in your city, you may have had the pleasure of watching a cook turn these loofah-shaped savoury doughnuts in the hot oil with long chopsticks. In Mandarin, called youtiao, they are served along side soups and stews, much like bread or crackers in a Western diner.
