Tested Till Perfect

This rich liqueur has an intense flavour that coffee lovers will savour. Sip it on its own or in mixed drinks, such as the White Russian Cocktail.

Servings: 3 cups (750 mL)

    1 cup (250 mL) granulated sugar
    1 cup (250 mL) brewed espresso
    1-1/2 cups (375 mL) white rum
    1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla

Preparation:

White Russian Cocktail

In saucepan, bring sugar and espresso to boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved; boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat; let stand for 10 minutes.

Stir in rum and vanilla; pour into jars and seal. (Make-ahead: Store in cool dark place for up to 3 months.)

Additional Information

  • Tip: One cup (250 mL) brewed espresso is equivalent to eight 1-oz (30 mL) shots. If you don't have an espresso machine, brew triple-strength espresso in a drip coffee machine.
