Full of tasty recipes and inspiring advice on healthy living, Angela Liddon’s blog, ohsheglows.com, enjoys more than four million page views each month. Born and raised in Moncton, N.B., and now based in Oakville, Ont., she is getting ready to release her first cookbook (it will be on bookstore shelves next spring). Hear what Angela had to say when we caught up with her recently.

Canadian Living: What are three things you always have in your fridge?
Angela Liddon:
This is easy! Kale, which I use in Green Monsters (my signature smoothies), almond milk and homemade salad dressing.

CL: What's your go-to dinner recipe for a busy night?
AL:
I love the creamy avocado pasta from my blog. It's a 15-minute recipe. It blends avocados with a little bit of olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt and some herbs.

CL: What's your guilty pleasure?
AL:
Watching "Say Yes to the Dress." But if we're talking about food, I make this homemade raw chocolate using cocoa powder, coconut oil, maple syrup, a little bit of salt and vanilla. It's so good!

CL: Do you find it difficult to eat out?
AL:
Sometimes it's easy; sometimes it's challenging. Thankfully, I could probably survive a few days off the energy bars stashed in my purse!

CL: Do your friends worry about what to serve you when you come over?
AL:
We usually do something fuss-free, like a potluck, so there's something for everyone. These days, anything goes!

CL: What are your favourite foodie websites and blogs?
AL:
I never miss a post from Choosing Raw, Plant-Powered Kitchen or Healthy Happy Life.

CL: What is the most surprising ingredient in your fridge?
AL:
There are so many things in my fridge right now! I'd say liquid smoke. It adds a wonderful smoky flavour to food.

CL: What is your food philosophy?
AL:
Plant-based, crowd-pleasing approachable vegan recipes.

CL: What is your biggest pet peeve?
AL:
Drivers who tailgate.

CL: Who inspires you?
AL:
Kris Carr. She has a long history with vegan recipes, her own show on TLC and a website. She's all about eating plant-based recipes, and she's battled cancer. She's amazing.

CL: What is your favourite thing to cook?
AL:
I like to bake, so things that are sweet. I like making vegan chocolate cupcakes and date squares. I also love to make no-bake recipes, like raw desserts.

CL: What is the best food destination?
AL:
For vegan food, I'd say New York City. I was there a couple of years ago and there are lots of vegan options. Toronto is also amazing, and Los Angeles is really good, too.

CL: What is your fail-safe potluck contribution?
AL:
I have a wheat berry salad on my blog that everyone loves -- both vegans and non-vegans. It's just wheat berries, fresh chopped veggies and balsamic vinaigrette.

CL: What is your most memorable meal?
AL:
A meal I had in New York City at a vegan restaurant called Candle 79. It's gourmet vegan food unlike anything I've ever had in another vegan restaurant. It's very upscale, all candle lit, and the food is presented really well.

CL: How do you stay fit?
AL:
It's hard right now because I have a knee injury, but I'm usually a big runner. Now I'm doing a lot of walking on the treadmill, as well as the 100 pushup challenge and the 200 sit-up challenge with my husband. I really love yoga, so I also try to fit that in whenever I can.
