Gin Kir Cocktail

Heather Howe's colourful, classic cocktail, with its touch of sparkle, is perfect for toasting. Choose a light-flavoured gin to enhance the black currant flavour. Enjoy it with Gorgonzola and Black Mission Fig Cups.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz 1ozgin
  • 1/2 oz 1/2ozcreme de cassis
  • 4 oz 4ozsoda water
  • twist of lemonlemons

Preparation

Fill wineglass with ice cubes. Add gin and cr? de cassis; top with soda water, stirring until just combined. Garnish with lemon twist.

Black Currant Cocktail: Omit gin and cr? de cassis. Add 1 oz (25 mL) concentrated black currant nectar (such as Ribena).
