Ingredients
- 3 slice whole wheat bread 3 3slice slicewhole wheat bread
- 1 pkg frozen fish fillets , (cod, sole or haddock), thawed1 1pkg pkgfrozen fish filletfish fillets, (cod, sole or haddock), thawed
- 1 egg 1 1eggeggs
- 2 green onions , thinly sliced2 2green oniongreen onions, thinly sliced
- 1 stalk celery , minced1 1stalk stalkcelery, minced
- 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper 1/2 1/2tsp tspeach salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil 1 1tbsp tbspvegetable oil
Preparation
In food processor, pulse bread to make 2 cups (500 mL) crumbs. Transfer to bowl.
Add fish to food processor and finely chop; add to bowl. Ad egg, onions, celery, salt and pepper to bowl; mix well.
Using wet hands, shape by heaping 1/4 cups (50 mL) into eight 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick patties.
(Make-ahead: Cover and refrigerate for up to 24 hours.)
In non-stick skillet, heat oil over medium heat; fry patties, turning once, until golden, about 10 minutes.
