Grilled Garlic Pepper Steak

Serve these savoury steak strips with sliced grilled potatoes and Arugula and Tomato Salad (recipe link below).

  • 3 3cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp 1/2tspsalt
  • 2 tsp 2tspvegetable oil
  • 3/4 tsp 3/4tsppepper
  • 1 lb 1lbthick-cut top sirloin grilling steak or flank marinating steak

In small bowl and with back of spoon, mash garlic with salt until paste; mix in oil and pepper. Rub onto both sides of steak; let stand for 10 minutes.

Place steak on greased grill over high heat or under broiler; close lid and cook, turning once, until medium-rare and pink in centre, about 8 minutes.

Transfer to cutting board; tent with foil and let stand for 5 minutes before slicing thinly across the grain.

Serve with:
 Arugula and Tomato Salad

Additional information :

Tip: To grill potatoes, cut into 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick slices; toss with oil, salt and pepper and grill until tender, about 20 minutes.
