Horseradish is just one of the dozens of add-ins that chef Smith mashes into one of his dad's preferred sides.
Ingredients
- 2-2/3 lb Yukon gold potatoes , peeled and cubed2-2/3 2-2/3lb lbYukon gold potatopotatoes, peeled and cubed
- 3/4 cup hot milk 3/4 3/4cup cuphot milk
- 1/4 cup butter 1/4 1/4cup cupbutter
- 4 tsp prepared horseradish 4 4tsp tspprepared horseradish
- 1 tsp salt 1 1tsp tspsalt
- 1/4 tsp pepper 1/4 1/4tsp tsppepper
- 1 pinch nutmeg 1 1pinch pinchnutmeg
Preparation
In large pot of boiling salted water, cover and cook potatoes for 20 minutes or until tender; drain and return to pot.
With potato masher, mash together hot milk, butter, horseradish, salt, pepper and nutmeg.
