This spiced cider is not only a delicious starter but also a boost of nutrition. Pomegranates are loaded with vitamins B and C, potassium, folic acid and iron and are high in antioxidants, which may play a role in the prevention of cancer and heart disease.
Ingredients
- 1 cinnamon stick, broken
- 5 whole cloves
- 5 whole allspice
- 2 slices gingerroot
- 3 cups apple cider
- 1-1/2 cups 100 % pomegranate juice
- 2 tbsp liquid honey
Preparation
Add apple cider, pomegranate juice and honey; bring to simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Additional information : Tip: If the cider becomes cloudy while heating, strain through cheesecloth-lined sieve before serving.
