Choose a gin with a light citrus accent, such as Hendrick or Plymouth, for this cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 oz gin
  • 1 oz lemon juice, (about half a lemon)
  • 1-1/2 tsp instant dissolving or fine granulated sugar
  • 2 oz soda water
  • 1 twist of lemon peel

Preparation

Fill cocktail shaker with ice. Add gin, lemon juice and sugar; shake vigorously to blend and chill. Strain into martini glass; top with soda water. Garnish with lemon twist.
