Ingredients
- 1 large red onion , halved and thinly sliced1 1large red onionred onions, halved and thinly sliced
- 1/3 cup white wine vinegar 1/3 1/3cup cupwhite wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar 1 1tbsp tbspgranulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 1/2tsp tspsalt
Preparation
Place onion in heatproof bowl. In small saucepan, bring vinegar, 1/3 cup (75 mL) water, sugar and salt to boil over medium-high heat, stirring until dissolved. Pour over onion; let stand for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours or for up to 1 week. Drain before using.
