Add-a-photo place cards

Have a little fun with your favourite friends by surprising them with computer-crafted place cards at your next get-together. Download, customize, print, cut, fold and place these conversation pieces at each place setting at your table.

Here's how to add your photos to this template using Photoshop (photo editing software):

1. Click to download the place cards template (.jpg, 307 KB) and open it in Photoshop. If needed, adjust view to display in "Actual Pixels".

2. Open photo files and crop each photo to 114 x 134 pixels at a resolution of 72 pixels per inch.

Recommended: Convert to grayscale for universally flattering black-and-white portraits that complement the place card design.

3. Click and drag (or copy, paste and move) to position cropped images.

4. Feed your colour printer with card stock to ensure the cards stand upright when folded along perforated line. Print.

We recommend using your photo editing software (see page 1) but if you prefer to work in word processing software, here's how to add your photos to this template, using Microsoft Word:

1. Click to download the place cards template (2.9 MB) and open it in your word processing software. If needed, adjust zoom/view to 100%.

2. Using your photo editing software, crop each photo to 114 x 134 pixels at a resolution of 72 pixels per inch.

Recommended: Convert to grayscale for universally flattering black-and-white portraits that complement the place card design.

3. Place cropped photos in document. The photo may be hidden under the place cards image. To bring the photo forward so it sits on top of the template, right-click on the photo and select textwrapping > in front of text (or Arrange and In Front of Text).

4. Print using a colour printer and use card stock to ensure the cards stand upright when folded along perforated line.

Remember to crop your photos to 114 x 134 pixels at a resolution of 72 pixels per inch before printing to cut down on trimming time. Click the image below to download and print it.
