Tuscany-inspired dinner party
Stage your dinner party in the most popular room in your home — the kitchen. Guests can nibble on appetizers, sip a glass of wine and gab while you put the finishing touches to a Tuscany-inspired menu. Your friends might even lend a hand!
Wine picks
By Linda Bramble
Look for a soft red wine (low in tannin) that pairs well with the peas and artichokes yet is full-bodied enough to stand up to the lamb. Try a Mission Hill 1998 Merlot (British Columbia) or a Konselmann Estates 1999 Merlot (Ontario). Either works very well. The fruity Portuguese standby Fonseca 1997 Periquita is also a complementary match.
