Microwave Cheddar Asparagus

Ingredients:

1 pkg (300 g) frozen asparagus
1/4 cup (50 mL) water
2 tbsp (25 mL) milk
1 tbsp (15 mL) cornstarch
1/2 tsp (2 mL) dijon mustard
pinch each salt, pepper and nutmeg
1/2 cup (125 mL) milk
1/2 cup (125 mL) shredded old cheddar cheese
Preparation:
In covered microwaveable casserole, microwave asparagus and water at High for 4 minutes or until hot; drain and keep warm.
In small bowl, whisk together milk, cornstarch, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper and nutmeg; set aside.
In glass measure, microwave milk at High for 1 minute or until hot; whisk in cornstarch mixture. Microwave at High for 40 seconds or until thickened, stirring once.
Stir in cheese until melted. Serve over asparagus.
