Microwave Chunky Cinnamon Applesauce
To-do list: Adults: Core and chop apples. Tend to microwaving Children: With vegetable peeler, peel apples. Wearing oven mitts, add sugar and cinnamon. Mash cooled apples with potato masher or fork.

6 apples, peeled, cored and sliced (about 2 lb/1 kg)
1/4 cup (50 mL) packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp (2 mL) ground cinnamon
Preparation:
Place apples in 12-cup (3 L) micowaveable casserole; cover and microwave at High, stirring twice, until tender, about 15 minutes.
Stir in sugar and cinnamon; let cool. Mash until chunky smooth, or purée if desired. Make-ahead: Let cool for 30 minutes; refrigerate until gold. Cover and refrigerate for up to 5 days.)
