Serve up a special breakfast for your loved ones with this Tested Till Perfect recipe for toast – topped with Black Forest ham and Parmesan cheese!

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper
  • 12 diagonal slices baguettes
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 oz shaved Black Forest ham
  • 1/2 cup shaved Parmesan cheese or shredded Swiss cheese

Method

In shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, basil, salt and pepper; dip bread into egg mixture to coat.

In large nonstick skillet, melt half of the butter over medium heat; fry half of the bread, turning once, until puffed and golden, about 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining butter and bread. Arrange on rimmed baking sheet.

Divide ham over bread; top with cheese. Broil until bubbly and melted, about 2 minutes.
