Ingredients
- 3 tbsp light mayonnaise 3 3tbsp tbsplight mayonnaise
- 2 tsp lemon juice 2 2tsp tsplemon juice
- 1 tsp minced fresh chives 1 1tsp tspminced fresh chives or green onions
- 1 lb asparagus , trimmed1 1lb lbasparagus, trimmed
Preparation
In small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, 2 tsp (10 mL) water, lemon juice, chives and pinch each granulated sugar, salt and pepper; set aside.
Cover and steam asparagus on rack above 1 inch (2.5 cm) boiling water until tender-crisp, about 4 minutes. Drain and arrange on plate; drizzle with sauce.
Additional information : Variation
Asparagus with Creamy Mustard Sauce: Replace lemon juice with 1 tsp (5 mL) Dijon mustard. Replace chives with parsley.
