Ingredients
- 3 eggs 3 3eggeggs
- 1/4 cup milk 1/4 1/4cup cupmilk
- 1/2 tsp dried basil 1/2 1/2tsp tspdried basil
- 1/4 tsp each salt and pepper 1/4 1/4tsp tspeach salt and pepper
- 12 diagonal slices (1 inch/2.5 cm thick) baguette 12 12diagonal slices diagonal slices(1 inch/2.5 cm thick) baguette
- 1 tbsp butter 1 1tbsp tbspbutter
- 4 oz shaved Black Forest ham 4 4oz ozshaved Black Forest ham
- 1/2 cup shaved Parmesan cheese , or shredded Swiss cheese1/2 1/2cup cupshaved Parmesan cheese, or shredded Swiss cheese
Preparation
In shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, basil, salt and pepper; dip bread into egg mixture to coat.
In large nonstick skillet, melt half of the butter over medium heat; fry half of the bread, turning once, until puffed and golden, about 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining butter and bread. Arrange on rimmed baking sheet.
Divide ham over bread; top with cheese. Broil until bubbly and melted, about 2 minutes.
