Give your burgers a southwestern kick with this beef patty recipe, made special with Cajun seasoning and perfect for an afternoon barbecue.
Ingredients
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup minced fresh coriander
- 2 tbsp salsa
- 1 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- Red Onion Lime Relish:
- 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh coriander
- 1 tsp grated lime rind
- 2 tbsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1 avocado
Preparation
In bowl, mix together green onions, coriander, salsa, Cajun seasoning, salt and pepper; mix in beef. Shape into four 1/2-inch (1 cm) thick patties. In nonstick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat; fry patties, turning once, until no longer pink inside, about 10 minutes.
Red Onion Lime Relish:
Meanwhile, in bowl, combine onion, coriander, lime rind and juice, oregano, salt and pepper.
Pit, peel and thinly slice avocado; serve beside patties. Top patties with relish.
Additional information :
Tip: To grill the patties, cook on greased grill over medium-high heat as above.
