Raspberry pear crumble
Spring is in the air, and a fruity, comforting dessert is just right to welcome in the new season while warding off the last of winter's chill.

Ingredients:

4 cups (1 L) sliced peeled pears
2 cups (500 mL) frozen raspberries
1/3 cup (75 mL) packed brown sugar
2 tbsp (25 mL) all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp (2 mL) nutmeg
Topping:
3/4 cup (175 mL) all-purpose flour
3/4 cup (175 mL) packed brown sugar
3/4 cup (175 mL) quick-cooking rolled oats
1/3 cup (75 mL) butter, melted
Preparation:
In large bowl, gently toss together pears, raspberries, brown sugar, flour and nutmeg. Spread in 8-inch (2 L) square glass baking dish.
Topping:
In separate bowl, stir together flour, brown sugar and rolled oats. Drizzle with butter; stir until crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit.
Bake in 350°F (180°C) oven until golden and bubbly and fruit is tender, 45 to 60 minutes.
