These fluffy biscuits are great at brunch with fresh fruit or enjoy them with a nice bowl of chowder -- either way they are simply the best!

  • 8 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup baking powder
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup cooking oil
  • 4 cups buttermilk


Preheat oven to 400ºF. In a large bowl, combine all dry ingredients together. Add shredded cheese. Mix well with your hands.

In another bowl, beat eggs and oil together. Add buttermilk then whisk together. Add the wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix really well. If dough is sticky add more flour until it feels nice and soft, not sticky. Cut into biscuits, bake in oven at 400ºF for approximately 20 minutes.
