This irresistibly soft dough is a tasty base for our four festive cookies. Sour cream is the secret to its creamy texture, which makes it easy to work with.

- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- pinch salt
MethodIn large bowl, beat butter with sugar until fluffy; beat in egg yolk until smooth. Beat in sour cream and vanilla.
In separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt; stir into butter mixture in 2 additions to form smooth dough.
