Cheesy Garlic Bread Author: Canadian Living Credits: Cheesy Garlic Bread

Garlicky, cheesy baguette makes a popular accompaniment for any Italian entrée. Use other mild cheese (such as mozzarella or Swiss) or sharp cheese (such as Cheddar or Gruyère) to suit your taste. Cut each baguette crosswise into thirds or quarters to increase the serving yield.

  • Portion size 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter softened
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 salt and pepper
  • 1 baguette halved horizontally and crosswise
  • 1 cup shredded Asiago or Fontina cheese

Method

In small bowl, stir together butter, garlic, parsley, salt and pepper; spread over cut
sides of baguette.

Place baguette cut side up on foil-lined rimmed baking sheet; sprinkle with cheese. Bake in 425°F (220°C) oven until cheese is bubbly and bread is golden, about 12 minutes.
