  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/3 cup cucumber chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon mint
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 8 oz lean ground beef


Mix yogurt and cucumber in a small bowl. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Preheat grill or broiler. Combine onion, mint, cumin, garlic, and salt in a medium bowl, then add the ground beef. Mix all ingredients well. Form mixture into two 3/4-inch-thick burgers.

Grill burgers over medium heat, uncovered, for 14-18 minutes (or 8-10 minutes if using turkey), turning once, or until meat is no longer pink. Top each burger with yogurt sauce, and serve.
