It's a very versatile recipe, you can substitute ingredients for what you have on hand.

  • 500 g lean ground beef
  • 500 g macaroni uncooked
  • 1 can diced tomato
  • 1 jar pasta sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 medium onions diced
  • 2 red peppers diced
  • 2 carrots shredded
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon parsley flakes


In skillet, brown ground beef until no longer pink; drain. Add onions, cook until tender. Add peppers, carrots, spices and cook until vegetables become slightly tender. Drain diced tomatoes and add to beef mixture. Add tomatoe sauce and simmer about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, bring large pot of water to boil. Cook pasta until al dente; drain. In oven-proof casserole dish, mix pasta with meat sauce mixture. Blend in cheeses, reserving some to sprinkle on top. Cover with tin foil and bake in 350' oven for 45 minutes; remove foil and bake 15 more minutes.
