Ingredients

  • 3 strips orange zest
  • 2/3 cups cocoa powder sifted
  • 2/3 cups corn syrup
  • 225 g semisweet chocolate (about 8 oz) chopped
  • 3 tablespoons orange-flavoured liqueur (such as Grand Marnier)
  • pinch salt

Method

In saucepan, bring orange zest, cocoa powder, corn syrup and 1 cup water to boil. Reduce heat to medium; boil, whisking constantly, for 2 minutes. Reduce heat to low; discard orange zest. Add chocolate and orange liqueur; cook, whisking constantly, until chocolate is melted, about 2 minutes. Remove from heat; whisk in salt.
