Sangria Lemonade

In season, add fresh blueberries for a touch of colour and sweetness. Limoncello is the generic name for a sweet Italian lemon liqueur. It is available in sample-size (50 mL) bottles.

  • Portion size 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 lemons
  • 2 limes
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 oz limoncello (or 2 oz/60 mL vodka)
  • 1 oz vodka
  • 1 bottle cava
  • 1 bottle sparkling dry white wine
  • 2 cups ice cubes

Method

Quarter lemons and limes; seed and thinly slice crosswise. In bowl, combine lemons, limes, sugar and salt ; let stand for at least 1 hour. (Make-ahead: Cover and refrigerate for up to 2 days.)

Pour fruit into serving pitcher. Add limoncello, vodka, cava wine and ice; stir to blend.
