Slow Cooker Barbecue Baked Beans With Sausage

Nothing beats the flavour of slow cooked baked beans. Smoked sausage and barbecue sauce give this dish an outdoor-cooked taste you can enjoy year-round. Serve with corn bread or thick-cut Texas toast.

Ingredients

  • 1 can tomato
  • 1 can red kidney bean drained and rinsed
  • 1 can black bean drained and rinsed
  • 1 can romano beans drained and rinsed
  • 8 oz smoked sausages diced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 cup smoky barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning

Method

In slow cooker, mash tomatoes with fork or potato masher until slightly chunky.

Stir in kidney beans, black beans, romano beans, sausages, onion, garlic, barbecue sauce, 1/2 cup water, mustard and Cajun seasoning.

Cover and cook on low until thickened, about 6 hours.
