Keep this simple all-purpose rub on hand for a last-minute flavour boost. You can rub it onto ribs, brisket, steak, chicken, fish or seafood before putting them on the barbecue.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Method

In small bowl, stir together paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, cumin, salt, oregano, onion powder, pepper, dry mustard and cayenne pepper. (Make-ahead: Store in airtight container for up to 3 months.)
