Wasabi and iced tea may seem like a strange combination, but we guarantee this recipe will both intrigue and refresh. The wasabi isn’t overpowering, but it does add an addictive kick at the end.

Method

In large pitcher, stir cold water with tea bags; cover and refrigerate for 8 hours. (Make-ahead: Refrigerate for up to 24 hours.) Discard tea bags. Set tea aside.

Meanwhile, in small saucepan, whisk together sugar, wasabi and 1/4 cup water. Stir in orange zest and lemon zest; bring to boil. Cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved. Let cool completely.

Stir sugar mixture and orange and lemon slices into pitcher; cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. Stir in ice cubes before serving.
