Kellogg's Rice Krispies Stars

Servings:

Ingredients:

    1/4 cup (50 mL) margarine or butter
    1 pkg (250 g) regular marshmallows (or 5 cups (1.25 L) miniature marshmallows)
    1/2 tsp (2 mL) vanilla extract (optional)
    6 cups (1.5 L) HOLIDAY RICE KRISPIES* cereal

Preparation:

Regular method
1. In a large microwave safe bowl, heat margarine and marshmallows at high for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes.

2. Stir in vanilla. Stir in KELLOGG'S RICE KRISPIES* cereal until well coated. Using lightly buttered spatula, press into buttered 3.5 L (13 x 9") pan.

3. Allow mixture to cool slightly. Using a star shaped cookie cutter, cut cereal mixture into star shapes. Decorate with icing and candy as desired

Stove top method
Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Follow steps 2 and 3 above.
