Ingredients

  • 1-1/2 cups chicken stock
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cups short-grain rice
  • 1 can sliced bamboo shoots
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

Preparation

In saucepan, bring chicken stock, water and soy sauce to boil. Add rice and bamboo shoots. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat until rice is tender but firm, about 15 minutes. Turn off heat.

With fork, gently stir in peas, green onion and sesame seeds. Let stand, covered, until rice is tender, about 8 minutes.
