Slow Cooker Beer-Braised Beef Ribs

Serve these hearty ribs with mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the delicious juices.

  • 1 1oniononions, sliced
  • 4 4cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup 1cupdark ale
  • 2 tbsp 2tbspWorcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp 1tbspdry mustard
  • 2 2bay leafbay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp 1/2tspsalt
  • 1/2 tsp 1/2tsppepper
  • 2-1/2 lb 2-1/2lbthinly sliced (about 1-inch/2.5 cm thick strips) beef simmering short ribs, cut into 2-rib pieces
  • 1/4 cup 1/4cupall-purpose flour

In slow cooker, combine onion, garlic, ale, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, bay leaves, salt, pepper and 1/2 cup water. Add ribs, turning to coat.

Cover and cook on low until ribs are tender, 6 to 8 hours. Discard bay leaves.

Transfer ribs to serving platter; cover and keep warm.

Whisk flour with 1/4 cup water; whisk into slow cooker. Cook, covered, on high until thickened, about 15 minutes. Pour sauce over ribs.
