Spinach Dip in a Rye Shell

This dip has almost become a classic, although there are several versions. The bread becomes the serving bowl and you can cut or tear the chunks removed to serve with the dip along with assorted vegetables.
Ingredients
- 1/4 lb cream cheese 1/4 lb cream cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 1 pkg (300 g) frozen chopped spinach , thawed1 pkg (300 g) frozen chopped spinach, thawed
- 2 green onions , finely chopped2 green onions, finely chopped
- 4 slices crisp cooked bacon , finely chopped4 slices crisp cooked bacon, finely chopped
- 1 small clove garlic , minced1 small clove garlic, minced

- 1 round loaf dark rye bread 1 round loaf dark rye bread
Preparation
Slice circle of crust from top of bread. Hollow out loaf, leaving shell at least 1 inch (2.5cm) thick, and cutting or tearing removed bread into pieces to serve with dip. Spoon dip into hollowed-out bread.
